About me: I am a wife and mother of 4 ages 19 to 9. I love to cook and considerable myself a true "foodie". I seldom cook or make the same thing twice, I am always trying new recipes for my family. I work in the community teaching basic nutrition and cooking skills to those who are food stamps. I find my job to be rewarding and I try to find ways to involve my kids as well.

The Best Simple Recipes

By Editors at America's Test Kitchen
Boston Common Press - 2010

Our family loved this recipe. It is easy to put together and has a fantastic taste. We used just regular linguine in this recipe. Also this makes at least 6 servings instead of 4. We will be making this recipe again and again.

This was a really good recipe. I think the key to this recipe as it states is the Hoisin sauce. I did not use a high quality Hoisin sauce and the flavor was maybe just a little strong and a bit off. Since the hoisin sauce is the main flavoring I think I should have made the effort to buy a better quality sauce. I will make it again.

Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Cookbook

By Beth Hensperger
Harvard Common Press - 2004

I had high hopes for this recipe, but really to me it was just only okay. I will not make again. The pork did seem a bit dry, but it was more like that there was not really any flavor to the meat. The sauce was weak at best, not the richness I look forward to in a peanut sauce- so this really didn't help the flavor of the meat either. So though I really wanted the concept to work it failed in my opinion. Too bad..

The Splendid Table's How to Eat Supper: Recipes, Stories, and Opinions from Public Radio's Award-Winning Food Show

This is a great recipe! The combination of the pork, roasted vegetables with the couscous and turkish almond sauce really hits the spot.

This can be pretty fast and easy for the experienced cook. Or just pre-prep everything and it comes together in a cinch.

The turkish almond sauce is to sooo good!
