About me: I live in Colorado and cook for my family; my husband, my 20-year-old daughter (who is in college), and my 18-year-old son (a VERY picky eater). I love cookbooks and have quite a collection but am always looking to add more. I have been known to take a cookbook to bed and read it before falling asleep. Lately, I have found myself getting a lot of recipes off the internet and not using my cookbooks much. I would like to change this. I am anxious for this site to take off (and it will) and for the volume of recipe reviews to grow. It is such a great idea!

Skillet Blueberry Cobbler from Weber's Real Grilling

Excellent. We did overcook it slightly on the grill but we just need to get better at grill baking! Served it to a group of 5 and everyone loved it. read more >

Apple Martini Jelly Shot : page 47

These were fun to make and fun to eat. We made ours separately. Sweet in one, sour in the other. We added just a drop of green food color to the sour so you could definitely tell the difference. We would eat them both at once time. Very fun and tasty!

We followed the directions at the front of the book and used a release agent in the silicone molds as well as an extra 1/2 packet of gelatin. They worked great and unmolded perfectly.

Even though these had a higher alcohol to juice ratio than the Cosmopolitan shot these did not taste nearly as strong. CAUTION consume with care!

Can't really go wrong with kahlua and vodka. The Cola layer was a nice addition. But with my limited 'Jelly Shot Making Skills' my Kahlua layer was much 'softer' than the cola layer. They looked wonderful on the plate, tasted great, but were difficult to eat.
I would make them again and maybe add 2 full envelopes to the Kahlua mixture.

Cosmopolitan Jelly Shot : page 76

Totally fun and easy Jelly Shot. We made this one since it was our first and we didn't have much time to let them set. So we needed a one layer shot and one that we had most of the ingredients.

We used the frozen limeade/water in lieu of the lime syrup because of our time issue.

They tasted great, but you could definitely taste the alcohol. Very strong!!!

Ours didn't look so great but we just need to perfect our technique! We bought the pyramid silicone molds with the cookbook and tried those. We definitely need a release agent in those. Our ice cube trays worked well.

I classified this as a 'beverage' since I'm not really sure where these should go!

Gin & Tonic : page 99

A quick and easy Jelly Shot to make! Very strong - but isn't a Gin & Tonic supposed to be strong?
