About me: I live in Colorado and cook for my family; my husband, my 20-year-old daughter (who is in college), and my 18-year-old son (a VERY picky eater). I love cookbooks and have quite a collection but am always looking to add more. I have been known to take a cookbook to bed and read it before falling asleep. Lately, I have found myself getting a lot of recipes off the internet and not using my cookbooks much. I would like to change this. I am anxious for this site to take off (and it will) and for the volume of recipe reviews to grow. It is such a great idea!

Skillet Blueberry Cobbler from Weber's Real Grilling

Excellent. We did overcook it slightly on the grill but we just need to get better at grill baking! Served it to a group of 5 and everyone loved it. read more >

The New Basics Cookbook

Apple Spice Cake : page 680

I made this for some friends for their birthdays. I used a bundt pan, which worked well. Even though there are a lot of ingredients it comes together quickly. Very moist with the apple sauce, apples, and buttermilk. The glaze ties it all together nicely. I would definitely make this again.

Two days later: Still good! I had a little bit today and it has held up well.

Twice the Rice Casserole : page 319

A great rice dish with great variety of ingredients and flavors - wild rice, brown rice, currants, pine nuts, and orange zest - something for everyone. This goes with many different entrees.
