The Perfect Scoop: Ice Creams, Sorbets, Granitas, and Sweet Accessories

Blueberry Frozen Yogurt : page 88
Very flavorful and refreshing. I omitted the kirsch only because I didn't have it on hand. I don't know how much the kirsch would have affected the sweetness of the yogurt but mine came out quite tart. This could be just because the berries themselves were tart. Also found that the yogurt froze much harder in comparison to ice creams I made from this book. Again, may be the kirsch may be the nature of yogurt vs. cream. I just give the yogurt a few extra minutes on the counter before scooping and a scoop dipped in hot water and everything's fine.

Coffee Ice Cream : page 34
So good. Steeping the beans is definitely a bit time consuming but worth it if you love a great intense coffee flavor. My first attempt at home-made ice cream and I loved every bite.

Strawberry Sorbet : page 128
I omitted the kirsch only because I didn't have any on hand. With just a few ingredients needed and no cooking required it was perfect to whip together during a heat wave and to use up the many strawberries I had on hand from a recent picking.
Wonderful intense flavor and very refreshing. Like many recipes in this book, a bit hard right out of the freezer but give it a minute or two on the counter and then scoop. Will definitely make again.

Vietnamese Coffee Ice Cream : page 35
Good recipe, easier prep than the Coffee Ice Cream recipe in this book. Coffee flavor is not as strong as the other recipe would definitely make coffee much, much stronger, when making it again.
