About me: I collect cookbooks and love to cook and try new recipes. I tested recipes for Leite's Culinaria for almost eight years. I learned to cook from many good southern cooks including my Mom, Dad, several Aunts and my Grandmothers. My children and husband also like to cook and try new foods and recipes. My son still lives with us but our daughter is married. She often visits to cook with me. We are adventuresome eaters willing to try new things.

Honey Bun Cake : page 267

My family loves this one too and this is the cake my son-in-law often requests for his birthday and this year was no exception. It does taste very similar to a honey bun but super moist. Daughter forgot the nuts this year but the family enjoyed it just as good.

New York-Style Cheesecake : page 224

I really thought I'd already reviewed this recipe since it's one my son requests often for his birthday and did again this year. We love this cheesecake and it's very easy to make. So good you wouldn't think you had started with a cake mix for the crust and even part of the filling. It's great served as is or with a fruit topping. Son requested raspberries on his this year.
