About me: I collect cookbooks and love to cook and try new recipes. I tested recipes for Leite's Culinaria for almost eight years. I learned to cook from many good southern cooks including my Mom, Dad, several Aunts and my Grandmothers. My children and husband also like to cook and try new foods and recipes. My son still lives with us but our daughter is married. She often visits to cook with me. We are adventuresome eaters willing to try new things.

Bourbon Roasted Pork Loin from Everyday Dorie: The Way I Cook

Honey Almond Tea Cookies

Gina DePalma was Mario Batali's pastry chef. She passed away recently from breast cancer. A cookbook collectors group I am in on Facebook decided to do a tribute to her this month by making one of her recipes either from her cookbook, her blog or other places on the web and then posting a photo of the recipe on the event page in the group.

I decided to make these cookies. Since the recipe makes 4 dozen I decided to make a half recipe. They are so good I should have went with a whole recipe. Even son and hubby enjoyed them. I sent half home with my daughter. I ended up with just a few over 2 dozen.

I didn't have almond flour for I just toasted and ground up some almonds. These were great with a cup of hot Chai tea, hubby enjoyed them with his coffee and son a glass of milk.
