About me: While my fiance and I were still dating his grandmother gave me my first cookbook at Christmas, the Taste of Home Baking book. I have expanded from there and cook something everyday now. His grandmother has since passed away, but I'll always give her the credit of being the first one to give me a cookbook.

Great American Brand Name Cookbook (Collector's Edition)

Blueberry Angel Food Cake Rolls : page 502

Note: I tried using parchment paper instead of aluminum foil...BAD IDEA. It stuck beyond salvageable. Maybe pulse the pie filling in the blender next time to give it a more even texture.

Substitutions:I used Wilderness brand cherry pie filling and added some whip cream to it!

I wasn't impressed enough to make it a second time but it is a good idea that could be expanded on!

Georgia Peach Pie : page 456

Note: this is definitely a custard peach pie, quite different from a regular fruit pie! It's my mom's favorite. I like it pretty well, but have yet to make a pretty presentation out of it.

I have tried to make this in a 10 inch tart dish... it seemed like it was too shallow because the custard was over-cooked. Stick with a 10-inch pie plate!

Oven Barbecued Chicken : page 207

Additions: I always add a big pinch of Chipotle seasoning (Pain is Good brand) and 3 tablespoons of raspberry puree (Torani brand).

Note: I usually use 4 large boneless skinless chicken breasts. Great with fried potatoes!

The flavor of this barbecue sauce is impressive and baking the chicken makes it an easy supper to fix!
