Better Homes and Gardens: New Baking Book

I had to give this one 5 stars because it is so fun, unique, and TASTY!

Substitutions: I have never added the chopped peanuts or banana slices on top. Instead, I decorate the top with leftover sliced strawberries.

My fiance says it's a good cake to have just once a year in the summer time.

I've made it for my dad's birthday and father's day and it's always devoured (faster than it took to make it!).

I don't have a very good photo of the cake but I'll post it so it gives you some kind of idea.

Everyone has their no-fail go to cake... this is mine!

Substitutions: I use white chocolate instead of the unsweetened chocolate.

I've actually only made it on three different occasions because I'm always trying new things out - but - this is a very consistent recipe.

ok, this was very different for me.. GRAPE pie?

My family and I picked up some grapes from a vineyard that sold them right from the field (they were concord too of course).

It's been just under a year since I made this recipe but I remember it well. I think that it's something for an adventurous cook to try at least once because it is so different.

The topping, crust, and filling came out just right but I couldn't really eat more than a slice. So, it came out well but my taste preference is generally against it.

I cannot speak for myself since I don't even like German Chocolate Cake... but...

My fiance's father and grandfather LOVE this cake. They say that the actual cake is very light and moist and Grandpa says it's his favorite.

I gave it 3 stars because of personal preference and because I prefer other cake recipes(the actual cake, minus the filling/icing) over this one.

5-star rating because i don't see how these could possibly be any better and everyone seems to find them addictive.

I've used strawberry, cherry, and apricot jam as well as orange marmalade, raspberry and mixed berry puree

They're fun to experience with and can be changed to your taste preference
