Spreading the (cookbooker) word ...
If it's not too hard, every challenge we do here could have its own badge, including the cookbooker logo, the name of the challenge, and dates it runs. The badge would link to the challenge page. There could be just a general See I Heart Cooki…

New challenge for September
Another idea might be to have a challenge for a single ingredient. Zucchini/courgette comes to mind right now since the garden is overflowing. (How can one single plant produce so many squash?!) But it could be something like harissa or sriracha or …

New challenge for September
I agree with friederike, that "Asian" is a bit too broad. Narrowing it by country or author would be useful. On the other hand, I'd love to do Solomon's Complete Asian book. I've had it for a while, but never spent a lot of…

New challenge for September
Could we do all books from one author (e.g., Deborah Madison or Nigel Slater), or is that too much? A salad book (or books?) would be nice, although it's getting past the season. I do like the longer timeframe we've had on Essential, but …

Finding my reviews on recipes in a cookbook
@BethNH, hadn't noticed that sort either, although it's the default one. But the book I want is in the middle-ish of 500+ reviews. Lots of pages to go through to get to where I want to go.

Finding my reviews on recipes in a cookbook
The speech bubble! I knew I must be missing something. Tis still a problem paging through multiple pages of cookbooks; no way to jump forward several pages. When you search you don't have the same options available. Thanks!

Connecting book editions
Ooo, I've never noticed the all-editions option. Maybe it could be made more prominent, a button or even a checkbox?

@southerncooker, it took me almost a year to read through Essential after Santa brought it. I cooked a few recipes after that, but am really enjoying getting back to it for this challenge. It's really full of yummy stuff and is becoming a favor…

Errata
It was The Essential New York Times Cookbook, Hot Penne with Chilled Tomato Sauce and Charred Tuna. Just a small thing, but annoying. I'm a bit surprised the publishers don't keep errata. It would be easy and logical for them to do this. S…

Where are the How-To's ? (Need to know how to add Tag)
Go to Search (in the red bar). Click View All Tags (at bottom left). Next page has a search box for tags. Or go directly to http://www.cookbooker.com/tags.php There may be another way to get there, but I haven't found it yet.

Ottolenghi cookbooks
Posting at cookbooker might work. You need a URL to post, that's all. Most people are have a blog, but I don't see why that would be necessary. OT: Why o you prefer wordpress to blogspot? I haven't bothered to investigate beyond my …

@Zosia, having your own blog with blogspot, wordpress, or typepad is easy. Everything can be easily set up using a choice of pre-defined layouts. Editing is easier than than most word processors. As long as you follow the KISS principle, it's p…

@andrew, this mis-starring thing is quite misleading. I noticed the meatballs problem yesterday. Thought I'd report it this morning, but find kateq has already been here. When I look at the front page, I might say, Oh 3-star meatballs, don…

@wester, I've just been looking for mail-order mastic in France (turned out to be a non-trivial exercise) and found a lot of mastic-flavored chewing gum. I wonder if you've bought some of that?

I show the same problem. I don't recall deleting a book, but wouldn't swear that hasn't happened.

A Lasagne Winter
I use the "no-cook" approach with all lasagna noodles, not just the special ones you can buy, and it seems to work fine. If there seems to be a shortage of sauce, I might pour about 1/4cup of water around the edges before covering and baki…
