I'm not a big beet fan except for my Mom's version of pickled beets which I love. I decided since I haven't tried them any other way in years it was time for another taste and I'm sure happy I did. I loved these. I did opt for the oven roast method but I'm sure they'd be wonderful in a camp fire as well. Daughter loved them too but hubby and son in law not so much but they did taste them and hubby even ate all of the small amount I put on his plate.
