Recipe Review

12th October 2014

southerncooker from Boomer, NC

Although this was good I don't think I'd make it again as written. It doesn't give a size for apples and mine were rather small so I added another one. I think a cup of apple cider was a bit too much for the amount of apples. My orange was a bit big so I think I also had to much zest for the amount of apples, as it was a bit over powering. Hubby said it tasted like it had some kind of alcohol or liqueur in it. I ended up cooking about twice as long as suggested and still had to mash the apples up a little with a potato masher. The applesauce was supposed to be a bit chunky which I like, but hubby said he'd rather I'd used the hand blender and really mashed it up.
