Easy Comfort Food: Simple Recipes for Feel-good Favorites

Beef Polpetti with Spaghetti : page 68
Easy to make and tasted great, that's about all I could ask for. My oven runs hot (I've noticed over many recipes), but it became hard to turn the meatballs after 10 minutes of roasting. I did two batches, and for the second I put them directly on the baking sheet instead of using aluminum foil. Much easier.

Butterscotch Blondies : page 180
A bit gooey, yet crumbly. Ok flavor, nothing special.

Chocolate Fudge Cookies : page 176
Simple chocolatey cookies. Good recipe.

Classic Choc Chip Cookies : page 175
The picture doesn't look very appetizing unfortunately, but the cookies themselves were. They turned out not as overwhelmingly sweet as others I've made, which was a welcome improvement. The only change I would recommend is to mix in the butter and eggs before adding the chocolate chips and nuts, just for ease in creaming the butter. Otherwise an excellent recipe.

Flourless-Yet-Fudgy Brownies : page 179
Makes a very rich and incredibly moist brownie (appearing almost undercooked in the center), though at the cost of twice the eggs and a full 5x the chocolate of my other standard recipe (from Bittman's How to Cook Everything). I'm not convinced it's worth all the extra trouble to save some flour.
