Butterscotch Bars : page 199
I tend to buy cookery books because they look interesting, rather than because they look useful, which is how I've ended up with a lot of books full of recipes I'll never use. This is one of them; the likelihood of my ever making Jellied Moose Nose or Seal Brain au Gratin is slim to non-existent. I was all set to try out a rabbit recipe but missed the end of the rabbit season by a week, so that one will have to wait till September. In the meantime I have made Butterscotch Bars for Comic Relief. They turned out OK, though the butterscotch and nut topping needs a little something extra (cinnamon, maybe, or possibly coffee).
