Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Recipes for Entertaining
By Beth Hensperger
Harvard Common Press - 2007
I got this book for free from Amazon using their Windows PC for Kindle program. This was a no brainer because I own all the rest of the excellent series except this one - for some reason I couldn't take the slow cooker seriously for entertaining. This book MAY convert me. Sophisticated recipes and other professional caterer time saving suggestions that can make your life easier. There is no ISBN for the electronic version - and the e-version doesn't really have page numbers.
Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Recipes for Two: For the Small Slow Cooker
By Beth Hensperger
Harvard Common Press - 2006
This is the book that really turned me onto slow cooking. I actually got excited reading it! I went out and bought a 1-1/2 quart and a 3 quart clow cooker, in addition to the ca. 5 quart I already had kicking around. I think the main virtue of this book is that it reflects today's eclectic food tastes, and gives you ideas and a framework within which to incorporate those food tastes into a busy work life. The amounts are good for two with at least one meal of leftovers. That said, because of personal taste I wouldn't follow the recipes with exactitude. I have made quite a number of these recipes (pre-Cookbooker) but did not make notes.
