I've had better baked beans but these were still quiet good. There are some mistakes in the recipe though. It says you can use the slow cooker instead of doing these in the oven but if you follow the recipe exactly (doesn't give alternate directions) then I think you'll end up with some very liquid beans. Also it calls for one pound of dried beans or you can use one pound of canned beans. No way a pound can of beans will make the same amount of beans a pound of dried will. I opted to use two cans of northern beans and continue the recipe in the slow cooker. I omitted the 2 cups of water called for and they turned out nice and thick. They are a bit on the sweet side but great with the Asian BBQ Chicken Page 116 Food Network Magazine July/August 2011, and Three Day Slaw page 65, also Screen Doors and Sweet Tea.
