About me: My cookbook collection results from a lot of impulse shopping when I am hungry and in a bookstore. I usually haunt the sales and clearance sections. My cookbook library, therefore, is not always used for particular recipes, but for inspiration. When actual cooking does take place, I like to compare different recipes I've seen in cookbooks, magazines, and websites, so that I can make the best informed decision before I commit to shopping for special ingredients and food preparation. My favorite cuisines (for which I am constantly expanding my repertoire) include German, Louisiana/Cajun/Creole, Thai, and homestyle American comfort food. I have dabbled in some African cooking as well. Most of my interest in these types of food comes from being a bit of a traveler. I have lived in Cameroon (Africa), Berlin and Munich (Germany), Limburg (the Netherlands), California, Louisiana, and Arizona. I have visited far more places including the former Soviet Union, the former Yugoslavia, China, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Belgium, Luxembourg, France and Mexico. Food is a passion and makes life worth living. I often entertain and love to introduce friends to new food experiences as well as craft brews and cocktails. Always working on finding those perfect recipes and methods for cooking a great meal! Cheers!
