The Gourmet Cookbook: More than 1000 recipes
By Zanne Early Stewart, Ruth Reichl, John Willoughby
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt - 2006
As with everyone else, this is an excellent cookbook. II often start here when looking for recipes. It has such a wide variety, and I find the ones I have used are quite versatile and forgiving if you change up the recipe. Great for basics and a starting point for creating your own meals (as well as lots of advanced recipes).

An excellent cookbook. You know you can open it and cook the recipe for company and be sure it will work out well. Our family uses this cookbook all the time, as do our friends.
