About me: I've embarked on a mission to cook something new from every cookery book I own - currently 260 - and am planning to use my account here to keep track (thanks to rfb from Librarything for tipping me off to the existence of this site). I've made a couple of rules for myself: to cook the recipe as given, with no substitution or variation unless suggested by the author; and to try to pick a genuinely new dish from each book - in other words, as I've cooked many Leek and Potato Soups in my time, I don't get to count Leek and Potato Soup as a new dish just because I haven't used this specific recipe before (unless it has really significant differences from the usual versions).

Kitchen: Recipes from the Heart of the Home

Sweet Potato Supper : page 340

Excellent and dead easy though I do have an issue with the oven time and temperature - if I roasted asparagus tips at 220F for an hour (as per this recipe) what I would get is little bundles of charred fibres. I've noticed before, and not just in Nigella's recipes but others as well, that roasting times for vegetables are often much longer than work for me. Could be a problem with my oven, though in this case I don't think so.

Anyway, I used the stems of the asparagus (having put the tips in a risotto) and gave them 30 mins at 200F. I gave the sweet potato a 10-minute head start so total roasting time of 40 mins. Good squeeze of lemon at the end as an alternative to Nigella's suggestion of chilli sauce.
