This is a very, very simple recipe - thanks for alerting us to it, Southerncooker! The recipe calls for a 9 in cake pan, but instead it was cooked in an 8-inch square pan. This made it thicker, and for us, it took about 10 minutes extra to be cooked (toothpick test).

Some of use loved this cake, but one family member felt it tasted like wet uncooked cake mix. I think the very moist texture was off-putting to that person. Nevertheless, the real cake lovers of the family enjoyed it, and we will make it again!

This is so good it's unbelievable. My daughter saw her make the cupcake version of these on her show so we decided to try it. You won't believe the calories and fat you save by using a can of pumpkin instead of eggs and oil with the cake mix. We thought it was even better this way. So moist and chocolaty. I took some to work and my co-workers fell in love as well. Everyone wanted to know how to make them. Who would have thought a cake mix and a can of pumpkin could taste so good. I know I'll make this one again.
