My son requested some homemade chili in bread bowls. I decided to try this recipe since I had all the ingredients. I made a half recipe for him, hubby and I. This is a simple chili with a few spices and tomato sauce. From the optional ingredients I chose to add some jalapeƱos since we like our chili on the spicy side and some diced canned tomatoes. We also added some hot sauce and ground chipotle. We put ours in the bread bowls and topped them with cheese and put them under the broiler for a few minutes. They were a perfect supper for this icy cold winter night. We enjoyed the texture from the masa.
