Recipe Review

Easy success!

Two secret ingredients make these cookies have fabulous flavor - cream cheese and lemon zest. The dough is very buttery, and it needs at least an hour chilling for ease of rolling and getting the cut cookie out of the cutter.

Each year, I attend a cookie party, where we bring our dough, and roll, cut, and decorate together. Twice I have brought this dough, and hand down, this is the easiest working and most delicious.

I generally hate the fussiness of rolled decorated cookies. But 13 daughter did an awesome job decorating (note the santa chick), and this recipe really isn't that much work. Hey - its almost Christmas - go ahead and bake already!

Adorable! I especially love the mushroon and the chick - who knew chicks weren't just for Easter!

PS, You will probably also recognize that these were our childhood cookie cutters.

Daughter did a great job decorating and the cookies with cream cheese and lemon zest sound delightful. Wish I had one to go with my coffee right now.
