Recipe Review

The flavor of this cake is heavenly - wonderful large pieces of pear in a lemon-zest filled very simple cake batter. This recipe also earns high marks for being easy to prepare.

There are lots of steps - preparing the pears (roasting with honey) took about 1 hour. But the batter came together really easily - no need even for the mixer.

My only problem was getting this out of the skillet. I let it sit the suggested 30 minutes, and gently loosened it around the edge. However, it still came out in a heap of about 10 pieces.

Very yummy, but don't count on it looking great for company.
