The Bread Bible
By Rose Levy Beranbaum

I purchased this book a few months ago and have made the Basic Hearth Bread several times now. It is described as a "launching pad" to experimenting with bread recipes and I agree with this opinion. Every time I've made this it has turned out perfect! It is very straight forward and has given me consistent results. The recipe is very well notated so although it's spread out over five pages, it's just a lot of background detail to make your bread making experience better.
I usually make this recipe as 2 baguettes and cut the cooking time down accordingly. The loaves are airy and nicely chewy. Really great flavour. I like that it has a touch of brown flour in the recipe which I suspect is really adding to the flavour.
In summary, this has become my go-to recipe.

The Silver Spoon
By Phaidon Press
Phaidon Press - 2005
A quick and easy version of the classic basil pesto. I added quite a bit more olive oil than the recipe called for as it seemed very firm without. I also added in a couple of cloves of garlic to give it some zip and pre-toasted the pine nuts. Nothing fancy here.
