Buttermilk Biscuits : page 17
These turned out light and fluffy and good. We do like ours better without sugar though. I used lard instead of shortening since that's what I had on hand. I like using both lard and butter in the biscuits. I got seven biscuits instead of 6

Buttermilk Streusel Coffee Cake : page 43
This is a very moist cake and quiet tasty too. It looks very pretty with the streusel running through the middle. The top which becomes the bottom when inverted is beautiful too. Of course it's great with a cup of coffee.

Hash Browns : page 143
This recipe uses an interesting technique for making hash browns. You bake the potatoes first then push them through a screen or cooling rack so you'll have long sticks. I just pushed mine through a large grater through the large shred holes. The recipe also tells you how to make clarified butter which you need along with canola oil for frying. These got nicely browned and crispy on the outside using the instructions. They were very tasty too.

Raspberry Jam : page 160
This is easy to make and delicious. I needed some homemade jam to go with a recipe I was testing so I decided to make this. My daughter helped me and we made a half recipe. I couldn't find fresh raspberries so we took the option of using frozen. Also I couldn't find quick pectin and since I only needed a very small amount I used the option of omitting it and cooking the jam a bit longer. The jam got nice and thick. We tested some out on a toasted English muffin since we had more than we needed for my test recipe. I know we'll be making this jam again and next time we'll make a whole recipe.

Spanish Biscuit Sandwiches : page 21
I made some homemade chorizo for this and made patties instead of the links which were suggested. The patties fit the biscuits nicely. Instead of making the tomatillo sauce from page 165 I used some packets of salsa Verde I had from Taco Bell. Although good and a nice change for breakfast it wasn't a favorite in our house. It's one of those recipes I'm glad I tried but probably wouldn't make again. I also made the hash browns one page 143 to go with this as suggested.
The recipe makes two but it's easy to make more. I made three, one for hubby, son and I. I think our son liked them the best.

Sunshine Yogurt Muffins : page 37
These are delicious. If you enjoy citrus tasting muffins you'll love these. They're loaded with flavor from the juices and extracts and the yogurt gives a nice moistness.

Tomato Jam : page 163
Even though it's called tomato jam the author says it's like a fancy ketchup. I made a half recipe since I want to try the Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwiches on page 18 and the author says it's tailor made for them. I tried them on the hash browns page 143 and it was good on those. I like that it doesn't have sugar in it as most ketchups and jams do. Can't wait to try the biscuit sandwich soon. This is fairly easy to make and I can see using it on a variety of things so next time I'll make a whole recipe.

Whole Wheat Buttermilk Biscuits : page 22
These biscuits were very good. I like the nutty flavor the whole wheat flour gave to them. I did get 8 biscuits instead of 6. They were also great toasted.
