About me: I collect cookbooks and love to cook and try new recipes. I tested recipes for Leite's Culinaria for almost eight years. I learned to cook from many good southern cooks including my Mom, Dad, several Aunts and my Grandmothers. My children and husband also like to cook and try new foods and recipes. My son still lives with us but our daughter is married. She often visits to cook with me. We are adventuresome eaters willing to try new things.

Kentucky Hot Brown Tart : page 144

A warning be sure you have a deep dish tart pan. Mine was 11 inches and it called for a 10 inch one but mine wasn't deep. I had a little overflow in the oven. Thankfully I followed the instructions to place the tart pan on a foil lined baking sheet so I prevented it from making too big of a mess. The tart was still quiet good. Bet it would be even better with some leftover baked turkey (I used deli sliced and chopped) and some fresh from the garden tomatoes. This was our Easter Breakfast. You need to plan ahead for this one as there are several steps and you have to wait awhile for the delicious results, about 2 hours with the prep, baking and cooling process.
