About me: I collect cookbooks and love to cook and try new recipes. I tested recipes for Leite's Culinaria for almost eight years. I learned to cook from many good southern cooks including my Mom, Dad, several Aunts and my Grandmothers. My children and husband also like to cook and try new foods and recipes. My son still lives with us but our daughter is married. She often visits to cook with me. We are adventuresome eaters willing to try new things.

Bourbon Roasted Pork Loin from Everyday Dorie: The Way I Cook

"Guy Like It" Barbecued Beef : page 24

I like that you can add all the ingredients to your slow cooker and come home to a delicious start to your night time meal.It suggests using a tougher cut of beef and I used a new to me one called a Denver steak. The meat guy at my local market told me it was good to cook low and slow so I thought it perfect for this recipe. The beef is sliced thin and placed in your slow cooker. It doesn't say whether to place the sliced onion on top or add to the sauce ingredients so I placed it on top of the meat then mixed up the sauce ingredients and poured over the meat and onions. When I returned home I toasted some Kaiser buns which I topped with provolone cheese which toasting then scooped on the meat onions and sauce, topped with dill pickles and we had a very good quick and easy meal.
