This is a very rich cake. It is a white cake that has four layers filled with nuts and fruit, and a cooked meringue frosting. the cake a bit of time to make but it's sweet and delicious.

Hot Mushroom Turnover : page 118

I have been making these appetizers for years, they are great. They take a little bit of work but you can make them ahead and freeze them. First you have to make the cream cheese pastry and then chill 1 hour. Next the filling. Roll out the pastry,cut out rounds, fill and seal. If you bake them frozen, add to baking time, till they are golden brown.
