Basil Ice Cream : page 100

I think this may be a matter of taste but I did not like this ice cream at all. For me, I think the contrast of the basil flavor and sweet cream did not work. I had the strongest negative reaction to it at the dinner party where I served it, so I think this is a concoction you either love or hate.

Cantaloupe Sorbet : page 111

I have made this several times. I usually use less sugar if the melon is really ripe (1/3 cup) and more lime juice because I like the acidity (up to 2 tbsp.). I have also made popsicles with this recipe.

Vanilla Ice Cream, Philadelphia-Style : page 25

This is probably my favorite way to make vanilla ice cream. It is easy, fast and oh-so-delicious.

Watermelon Sorbetto : page 112

This is a great summer recipe. I make it every year. It also makes very good popsicles.
