I am not usually a big brownie fan.  And these would be fairly ordinary brownies but for the fact that they have the port-ganache topping (p. 45, same issue).  Takes these brownies up a level to elegant.  There is the option of adding port-soaked dried cherries although I opted not to.
That port ganache topping would be good in almost any recipe calling for a ganache frosting. Or on top of brownies from a mix.
