Perfect cupcakes to make for a "wow" dessert! They were not too complicated to make, and were real crowd pleasers. They look beautiful, and are delicious! My only complaint is that each of the components (cake, filling, frosting) have very distinct and strong flavors, which could be overwhelming at times. Would probably make again!

I have made these several times, and the only thing I can say is to use the best, and darkest cocoa powder you can find. Otherwise they don't come out as dark and espresso-colored as in the picture. These are always a hit and several of my friends have made different variations (mini cupcakes, cakes, etc...)

Made these for my birthday and they were amazing! Very moist, great texture, and the ganache takes them over the top. I'm not a fan of whiskey so I left it out, but I can see how well it would work for someone who enjoyed it. I did increase the frosting yield by adding an 8-oz block of cream cheese and enough powdered sugar to get it to the proper consistency (about 3 more cups), mainly because I love heaps of frosting in general and cream cheese frosting in particular. I got exactly 24 cupcakes with this recipe, though I did have to work really hard to get the last one up to volume. Definitely recommended.
