I liked this very quick braised chicken dish quite a bit -- I found the combination of onions, garlic, white wine, yam and mushrooms quite tasty. So I was a bit surprised when my husband's verdict was "kinda bland, don't you think?"

I do think it is tasty enough for a weeknight comfort food meal and I like that it is easily halved to serve two and that it can be done ahead and rewarmed on those nights when you aren't quite sure what time everyone will be home for dinner.

Roasted Brussels sprouts made a nice side.
