friederike from Berlin,

Very easy, and very, very delicious, though the fennel could have been slightly stronger. Next time I'll use 1 1/2 or even two bulbs of fennel. As a starter, 150g fish is okay, but you can also serve it as a light main dish if you double the amount of cod. If you forgot to buy cream, you can also use milk and thicken it with a roux. For an extra touch, add some nutmeg.

I could also imagine serving this soup to vegetarians if you replace the broth by vegetable broth and use, I dunno, a poached egg or bread croutons or something similar instead of the fish.

We had this soup again for our christmas dinner, and everyone really enjoyed it.
