While this was good the icing was sweeter than we like. Next time I would omit the sugar. I used Redi Whip in icing instead of Cool Whip. Easy cake starts with a cake mix. Need to leave in fridge few days before eating.

Grandma Pearl's Flaky Chocolate Icing reviewed by southerncooker
This is a boiled icing which hardens quickly once it's poured on the cake. We made it to go on the Chocolate pound cake on page 100. It's very fudgy tasting and I think would work well on other cakes. Not my favorite frosting but still very good.
