This turned out to be a delicious meal. I used hot peppers from the farmer's market, and most of the heat dissipated with the cooking. I used tomato puree rather than roasting fresh tomatoes, because that was what I had on hand. I also ended up baking the peppers- when I sauteed them in the last step, I didn't get the peppers as soft as I wanted. I served this with farro.

Elegant simplicity, and the perfect dessert to highlight the taste of the apple.

I subbed red miso for the white since that is all I had, and while this made the miso taste really pronounced, I don't view that as a bad thing. Be judicious on the amount of shallot used however, a lot goes a long way.

This pie is tricky- I blind-baked and found it made the crust prone to burning, because the cherry filling really needed the full cooking time. (The topping was prone to burning as well.)

I love this recipe- but they definitely make cake-like brownies, rather than fudgy ones. It is great to have an option that uses only cocoa powder.
