About me: I collect cookbooks and love to cook and try new recipes. I tested recipes for Leite's Culinaria for almost eight years. I learned to cook from many good southern cooks including my Mom, Dad, several Aunts and my Grandmothers. My children and husband also like to cook and try new foods and recipes. My son still lives with us but our daughter is married. She often visits to cook with me. We are adventuresome eaters willing to try new things.

Sage Pork Chops with Kale Colcannon : page 42

Everything was very good. While we did enjoy the Sage Pork chops we liked the ones from The New Midwestern Table better. I make colcannon often but with cabbage and ham. This version has kale and bacon. I knew I had to make this one when my daughter was here since she loves kale. We all agreed it was delicious but I think we like the one I usually make a bit better.

While this was good I've had other onion soups I enjoyed much better. This one was a bit unusual since it uses hard cider as part of the broth. I made home made vegetable broth for the other part. There was also two egg yolks stirred into the soup once it was done cooking which to me was also a bit different.
