About me: I collect cookbooks and love to cook and try new recipes. I tested recipes for Leite's Culinaria for almost eight years. I learned to cook from many good southern cooks including my Mom, Dad, several Aunts and my Grandmothers. My children and husband also like to cook and try new foods and recipes. My son still lives with us but our daughter is married. She often visits to cook with me. We are adventuresome eaters willing to try new things.

Everyday With Rachael Ray
(February, 2010)

Double Decker Shepherd Pie : page 78

I made this for dinner tonight and we really enjoyed it. My son doesn't like the veggies I usually put in shepherds pie but he liked this one. Green onions, mushrooms and a Poblano chilie star in this dish. The reason it's called double decker is the meat and veg mixture is sandwiched between two layers of mashed potatoes.

Spicy Hot Pot with Noodles : page 33

This was an excellent dish. I added a bit more hot chili paste as we like it spicy. Hubby loved it too. I'll be making this one again. The flavors of ginger, sesame oil and noodles with the broth, steak and shrimp are wonderful.
