Baked Tomatoes : page 127
It's hard to come to a fair judgement. There's nothing in this recipe you couldn't have thought of yourself, and the quality of the resulting dish certainly does not depend on the recipe but on the quality of tomatoes used (which, to be honest, weren't the best, but then it's winter, too).
On the other hand, I tend to forget most side dishes and then focus on the few I can remember, so I should be glad for a little reminder. Just remember to use good quality tomatoes!
I did wonder how it would effect the tomatoes if you baked them on a slightly lower temperature for a few hours instead of 20 minutes.. my guess would be a huge improvement (again, only with good tomatoes)...
We served this with Flambéed Pepper Steaks, a good combination.

Greek Fish Stew : page 115
I chose this recipe because it said 'ready in 15 minutes' - I didn't read that that included using peeled tomatoes. Yeah right, that's cheating. Not the perfect midweek dish I had hoped for.
Furthermore, it distinctly lacked flavour. We added lots of salt and pepper, and yet it tasted like it missed something, more body flavour in a way. Luckily, a tin of concentrated tomato extract (the whole 70g) solved that problem. But if you need peeled tomatoes and a tin of concentrated tomato extract anyway, then why not just use 1-2 cans of tomatoes? It might not be healing food, but it's definitely honest food!

Salmon Teriyaki : page 119
Very delicious, very quick but not that easy. To start with, it's difficult to get the timing right, to get the salmon done without burning it. You really need to be well prepared as everything goes so quickly, especially flambéeing - think a small bowl with sake in one hand and a lit match in the other. The result however is very nice, it's healthy and incredibly quick!
I served it with the Cucumber Salad from the Time-Life book Chinese Cooking (I added my review to the German version I own), and I really enjoyed it!
