The coffee crumb cake recipe is amazing and super simple. It utilizes the same base dough as the Cinnamon buns, so if you don’t need 24 cinnamon buns, you could always split the sweet dough in half and make crumb cake with the other half. That is what I did with this recipe. Even splitting the dough in half still made two 9 inch round crumb cakes.

The dough was super light and fluffy. Almost like a yeast doughnut. The crumb topping was amazing as well. This is the best coffee crumb cake I have ever had.

One mistake I made, was to only half the crumb topping recipe, but I technically has two 9 inch coffee cakes, so I probably should have made 2/3 of the recipe because the amount was barely enough to cover the top of each cake.

I made three of these today with the dough I put in the fridge yesterday. My great niece helped me top them. We made one plain, one with strawberries and one with apples and pecans. I think the strawberry was the most popular, with the apple/pecan coming in second and the plain one last.
