This is a really nice starter soup, not a main dish soup. It has an unusual but really pleasing flavor (be careful not to go overboard with the splash of lemon at the end) and the smoother the texture (blender or food mill rather than hand blender) the nicer it is. Wish it was prettier to look at, but if I can't have both I'll take flavor over looks any day.

Lots of good things that I'd never put together before, chopped and thrown in a pot with some EVOO (zucchini, apples, a carrot, onion, ginger, serrano chilies, garlic, curry paste) with some chicken broth. Total cooking time is about an hour after about 15 minutes of prep.

Recipe suggests a final garnish with either sour cream or cream fraiche (I used the latter) but I ended up finding it kind of an unnecessary distraction from the main event.
