Website: Dessert For Two
I was a tempted to add spices, but glad I didn't (at least this time). The end result was wonderful, unadulterated banana flavor with a moist, tender crumb. This browned quickly and I had to tent the loaf until the middle was set, about 22 minutes total.

Love these small batch recipes! They are pretty reliable and tasty. I used a whole egg and it worked out fine - moist, light crumb and not too sweet.

Tasty! Mine puffed up quite a bit and needed a couple extra minutes. I used dark chocolate chips and added macadamia nuts. Next time I may cook it at 350 so it doesn't get too brown on top.

This light, tender, and slightly lemony cake was wonderful paired with lemon curd (I used a different recipe) and ermine frosting (left over from another cake). I did use the lemon syrup soak between the layers even though I was serving it the same day and had to add a little lemon juice to regular milk for the buttermilk. The cake itself didn't have much lemon flavor but with the soak and curd this was wonderfully tart. Baked in a 6 inch pan and sliced in two thin layers this makes a small but impressive little cake. It's def dessert for more than 2! I look forward to trying this again with whipped cream frosting.

These maybe a 5 star cookie that I slightly over baked?? I was hoping for a bit more chew. The author processes the oats slightly before adding them to the wet ingredients, which may make them chewier (?) but I did miss that typical hearty texture of an oatmeal cookie. I was very generous with the cinnamon (both in the cookie and the glaze) and they definitely got devoured. Next time I will bake 3-4 minutes less.

This came out great. The crust is flaky and sturdy enough to hold the jammy fruit and the addition of the sweetened almond meal is a nice touch. I did not make my tart as large as hers - using only about 2/3 of the pate brisee because my three plums were quite small. I had plenty of the almond/sugar meal leftover, to which I added some butter, making a wonderful crumble topping for ice cream.
