This soup is really terrific as written. I garnished with the steamed corn and peppers as well as a squirt of lime and a dash of cayenne. I also strained my soup for a silky smooth texture.

This is a wonderfully creamy, not too sweet rice pudding. I skipped the raisins and had to use vanilla rather than vanilla bean - very simple and delicious! I also like this doesn't make a huge amount since there is only rice pudding eater in the house....

According to reviews on NYT the volume measurements are off - I weighed my ingredients and this came out wonderful! I made this in the food processor and though it came together easily it was a little wet/soft (even w/ only 2 1/2 tablespoons water)....
