Tamarind Chutney (Gor Amli ni Chatney) : page 286
DEElicious! A bit thin, perhaps, but that might be what's intended. The flavor is so good, I don't really mind.

Stir-Fried Cauliflower : page 179
Easy enough, but fairly boring. I forgot to add the sugar, though doubt that would have helped.

Spiced Broccoli and Tomatoes : page 175
I made a half recipe of this. Plum tomatoes are not in season, so I used oven-dried (plum) tomatoes from the freezer. They aren't peeled, but worked fine. This is a fairly simple dish, but quite tasty with ginger and a bit of cayenne along with the broccoli and tomatoes. With the cayenne on the short side, this would be fine with most any kind of meal.

We really like this and I've made it several times. I usually don't use the breading (breadcrumbs and egg whites). Instead I just cook them like mini lamb burgers.
The patties can be prepared ahead and cooked quickly just before serving.
Small error in the recipe prologue, which recommends Savory Rice and Green Pea Pilaf as an accompaniment. The page number for this recipe should be 233 (not 234).

Cumin-Flavored Potatoes (Jeera Aloo) : page 192
The editing of this recipe has gone terribly awry. My best guesses at repairing (and how I've prepared this with quite good results):
- In the first group of ingredients, ignore the minced ginger and dried red chilies.
- In the first paragraph of instructions, add the cumin seeds, turmeric, coriander, and red pepper powder, skipping the ginger and red&green chilies.
- In the second group of ingredients, ignore the 4 ingredients in the right column (which are more or less a repeat of the last 4 ingredients in the first group of ingredients). Add 2 teaspoons chopped cilantro and 2 teaspoons lime juice. These are referred to in the tempering instructions; amounts are my guesses, right or wrong.
