Good Housekeeping's Cookery Compendium
December 18th, 2019This is 3 books in 1 from the fifties and published in England. I love it! The 3 sections are 1. Basic cookery, 2. Picture cookery, 3. Cake making.
Although there are some recipes that I would never make, the cake recipes and basic instructions are very good. In contrast to modern cookbooks, the instructions are extremely brief, and that makes room for more recipes. An excellent vintage cookbook!

The New Vegetarian Epicure: Menus--with 325 all-new recipes--for family and friends
By Anna Thomas
Knopf - 1996
I've made lots of recipes from this book, but somehow haven't reviewed them yet. While I get to that, I just want to say that I've had many great meals from this book with no failures. I pick and choose the dishes and never make the full menus. Soups, crepes, dips, vegetable stews, and desserts are some of the high lites.
