About me: I live in Colorado and cook for my family; my husband, my 20-year-old daughter (who is in college), and my 18-year-old son (a VERY picky eater). I love cookbooks and have quite a collection but am always looking to add more. I have been known to take a cookbook to bed and read it before falling asleep. Lately, I have found myself getting a lot of recipes off the internet and not using my cookbooks much. I would like to change this. I am anxious for this site to take off (and it will) and for the volume of recipe reviews to grow. It is such a great idea!

Skillet Blueberry Cobbler from Weber's Real Grilling

Excellent. We did overcook it slightly on the grill but we just need to get better at grill baking! Served it to a group of 5 and everyone loved it. read more >

Pasta e Fagioli

Wonderful recipe. We have made this many times throughout the winter. We usually add a little more liquid as it is SO packed with goodies that there is not enough broth.

Tuscan White Bean Soup

This soup is very good. Wonderful flavor. I usually have to add more liquid to the soups made from this book but not this one. I make this to recipe.

Lots of garlic and creamy texture with running the beans through an immersion blender. Very good flavor. One of constant repeats.

Homestyle Chicken and Vegetable Soup

Great hearty soup. We love all of the vegetables in this and with the chicken it is a complete meal (although we usually have bread and cheese too). I sometimes add 1/4 - 1/2 cup each of corn, green beans, and peas (thanks to my Aunt Bonnie).

A great soup. I add more liquid as it gets very thick when made to recipe.

We think that this is a slightly unusual soup and a great change of pace. We love it with the lima beans and basil!

Great Green Vegetable Tart

I thought that this was very good. I actually made two and I only have one spring form pan. I put the other in my tart pan which worked fine too - could hold the same volume too. Very good way to get lots of good green veggies.

Grappa-Soaked Mini Sponge Cakes (Pan di Spagna con Grappa)

I have made these twice and both times they were a hit. Both times I used Lemoncello instead of Grappa (we are not grappa fans). I also put some lemon zest in both the cake and the syrup. Absolutely divine with Lemoncello.

I used my Wilton mini-bundt pan that has 12 - 1/2 cup molds in it. 11 minutes to bake on convection and 15 to bake on regular. These seemed to be the perfect small size. Makes 24.

Vertical Roasted Chicken Cocorico

We do have the NapaStyle Cocorico roaster that we use to make this chicken. I am not one for many kitchen gadgets - but this is more than a gadget and worth the amount of space it takes in my cabinets. This chicken comes out wonderful with beautifully seasoned vegetables and potatoes. We have always used the Toasted Spice Rub instead of the Citrus Salt with our chicken - the house smells wonderfully while it is baking.

Toasted Spice Rub

I have always used this with the Vertical Roasted Chicken Cocorico but it would be good in many dishes. I love making this - as the spices are toasted the entire house smells delicious. One recipe of this makes 1 cup you only need about 3 - 4 tablespoons per chicken. So you will have leftovers to make more chicken!
